ERAHC will be hosting two separate Dressage Shows on August 23rd and 24th. This is open to all breeds. This is a sanctioned and licensed show and a great opportunity to gain qualifying scores. This has become a popular show due to the relaxed atmosphere and how well it's run. It's one not to be missed.
For the first time ERAHC will be hosting a one day Educational Symposium on August 25th. We have lined up Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel, Tina Vedar and Bruno Gonzalez of Baroque Equestrian Games, Carlos Carneiro (W.E.) and Howard & Erica Peet. This is a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in their field!
This event is not to be missed!
Take all the knowledge you gained from the Educational Symposium and show it off at the Breed Show! The breed show is open to all pure bred Spanish horses, Lusitanos, and Part Breds. Its a great event to connect with fellow Breed owners and fans of this beautiful breed.

The winner gets 50% of the pot and the club receives the other half to be used to host more educational events for our members. You do not need to be present to win.

No reason to find a restaurant in town when you can simply walk over to the Reel Arena concourse and join us for a delightful evening with new friends and old! What could be easier?! This event is open to everyone, exhibitor, and spectator alike. Buy your tickets now for our Dinner on the Concourse. There will be an extremely limited number of tickets available at the event so guarantee your seat by purchasing tickets now! We will be selling tickets until Sunday, August 20th with a very limited amount of tickets available at the event.

Silent Auction - Donate items for our silent auction. Every year our Patrons donate the most wonderful array of fabulous items, from tack, to costumes, artwork, clothing, wine, and more. We appreciate your donations which support our efforts! Drop off items at the ERAHC booth. Auction closes Saturday, August 26th at 7pm.

Exhibitors Stall Decorating Contest - The theme is “Country Pride” of either Spain, Portugal, or the United States. Tour the festive barn area. The judging will be after the last class on Saturday and announced at the Wine and Cheese Party. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from Dover!

VA Classic USDF Open Dressage Show S Judge
Marilyn Payne
Marilyn is a distinguished trainer, competitor, judge, and breeder of horses for eventing and dressage. She was President of the Ground Jury at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a member of the Ground Jury at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She was also President of the Ground Jury at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in 2010 at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Marilyn is an FEI 4* Eventing Judge and a USEF “S” Dressage Judge who has officiated at major eventing and dressage competitions in the U.S. and around the world.
In addition to judging twice at the Olympics – a rare honor – and at the World Equestrian Games, she has presided at the European Eventing Championships and the Central American Games, and has judged every 4* event in the world.
She makes time in her busy judging schedule to teach seminars for FEI Eventing Officials and training programs for USEF dressage judges.
She is a member of the FEI Eventing Committee, representing the perspective of judges worldwide. She is also a member of the USEF High Performance Committee and the USEF Eventing Committee.

Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel
Since arriving from Germany in 1984, Felicitas has managed First Choice Farm and trained many horses to Grand Prix level. She is an effective and articulate clinician, whose style is sympathetic to the horse. Her strength lies in “making the horse more beautiful, and allowing them to express themselves.” She is sympathetic to the horse and each is trained according to his individual needs and temperament following classical dressage principles.
She is a frequent contributor to platforms such as Dressage Today, Practical Horseman and Dressage Today OnDemand with articles and videos discussing hill work for dressage horses, positive tension and self carriage.

Bruno Gonzales
From Madrid, Spain, Bruno Gonzalez is highly experienced in the techniques and theory of Classical Horsemanship, and its positive application to all breeds and disciplines. He has coached, developed and trained horses & riders from novice through FEI levels, and is internationally recognized for his Classical training curriculum, especially for Iberian horses.
Becoming one of today’s most-in-demand clinicians, Bruno’s talent for teaching and his gentle approach are helping riders of all levels to achieve remarkable results.
He is Co-Creator of The Baroque Equestrian Games & Institute. Bruno designed the competition Patterns of the Baroque Equestrian Games using the time-honored, classical exercises of the old masters. The Patterns he created are proving to be a benefit for all horses and riders regardless of their discipline or breed. Many well-known trainers are using the Patterns with superb results. Bruno is the Head Trainer and Co-Owner of Caballos de Cristiani, now re-named New Dawn Equestrian, LLC.

Tina Cristiani Veder
Tina Cristiani Veder is the co-creator of The Baroque Equestrian Games & Institute with Bruno Gonzalez. From 1986-2000, her farm Caballos de Cristiani was an acclaimed breeding and training facility, selling champion Iberian horses for competitive dressage to many top riders in North America, Europe, and Australia, including several US Dressage Team members and 3 Olympians for their clients. She retired her breeding operation in 2000 to form New Dawn Equestrian, LLC. and concentrate on training and teaching.
Tina studied under three generations of the famous Konyot family, as well as other noted European Classical trainers of the last century. Steeped in the principles of Classical riding and training, she shares her passion through articles and teaching, along with exhibitions showcasing the upper levels of balance and collection. Her special focus is in helping riders attain the elegance and effectiveness of the Classical seat.

Carlos Carneiro
Carlos Carneiro, who grew up immersed in the horse culture of his native Portugal, has been the head trainer at Sierra Nevada Lusitanos in Napa, California since 2011.
He has had the amazing opportunity of studying with two of the world’s greatest classical dressage masters: Luis Valenca and Joao Oliveira, the son of the revered Nuno Oliveira. Carlos is adept at progressing young horses through the training levels with classical exactitude. The ultimate goal, of course, is to have a happy, light in the hand, eager to please, healthy horse. Carlos achieves this multi-faceted goal by paying particular attention to every training detail from exercises promoting flexibility and strengthening to those oriented towards cadence and self-carriage.
Carlos teaches clinics in Portugal, Germany, Austria and the United States. He is an exceptional instructor, skilled in getting the best results from the rider and horse. In Portugal, Carlos has participated in numerous exhibitions showcasing classical dressage in the traditional Portuguese tack and attire. Here in the United States, he was honored to perform an exhibition at the World Cup for Grand Prix Jumping in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Carlos has earned numerous awards within the Working Equitation discipline, including winning top honors in 2015 at the Andalusian World Cup competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he competed at the Intermediate Level, and earning the overall highest score at the Santa Barbara, California 'Skill of the Rancho' Working Equitation competition. In 2014, Carlos took home
National Championships in the Advanced and Intermediate Levels at both of the Haras Cup and IALHA competitions in Texas.
